September 22nd

is the day we will call it a season on the strawberries.  We will be open this Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from noon until 5pm and then turn the chickens and dog loose in the field.  There are still loads of strawberries and if the weather continues they will continue to produce but for many reasons, the time has come. And here are the top reasons: 1.We opened exactly three months ago and I've been talking non-stop since.  It's time for me to shut-up.   2. My always answer to the kids,  "No. We're open for berries" is getting old.  3. Our property looks like someone let an 11 yr. old loose on an excavator. And that is precisely what happened this week.   (It should be put back in place by next summer). 4. It's time to move on to other things like pumpkins, squash and a lot more pumpkins. 5. If I never saw another strawberry for the rest of my life....6. Y'all are done with the berries too.  But if you are wanting strawberries still, just give us a call.  We will NEVER turn business away!

There will be more posts.  The one in which we say "thank you" and remind you how great you are. There will be a squash and pumpkin post telling you about the very big, very orange, perfect for Halloween, pumpkins in the field. And surely some more squash and pumpkin posts. So stayed tune.  We are not finished yet!

In the mean time, we hope to see you out here this week for a last hurrah of berry picking until next summer.  Next summer is a loooooong way off so come on out!
