Typically, summer's mid-way mark is prime season for raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. This year is no exception. All three berries are excellent picking. However, this is the final week for great raspberry picking. They will begin their decline by week's end and be scarcer next week. (I think?) Blueberries and strawberries have many fine weeks ahead.
We are open this week including Saturday from 8am to 2pm. We are closed Sunday and we will be open on the holiday Monday. Make sure you don't find yourself berry-less for the long weekend!
So with smiles and the sound of those darn crickets bringing in August, we say goodbye July.
The unsung hero of the farm
Our dog True doesn't get much press. She is rarely seen or heard but she is working hard behind the scenes making this all possible. All day and mostly during the night she is protecting the berries from ravenous wild creatures. We sleep easy knowing she is out there fiercely protecting the field. The best part though is that she is a gentle giant with all people and other dogs. We love our time spent with her in the evenings before she is back at her post. Thanks True for holding down the farm!
