and we finally have the trio of berries! All at different stages of production:
The raspberries have done some decent ripening over the weekend and the picking will be good tomorrow. It is likely their last decent week. Come this week for easier picking.
Blueberries! A continuation of great picking all week. The crop is excellent this year.
The strawberries are beginning their long-anticipated return. They are not in their main season yet but they are available to pick all week. The berries are big and easy to find. The slightly cooler temperatures have done wonders for them!
Open all week from 8am to 1pm for U--pick of the TRIO of berries. Closed Sunday.
It is that very special time of the summer when you can leave the farm with all three berries.
Bring containers and cash. We hope to see you this week!
We are open, 8am to 1pm on Saturday for U-pick raspberries and blueberries.
Come for raspberries sooner rather than later. They are making that inevitable turn after an incredible four weeks. But they are still good. Still good. A week or so left.
And the blueberries are in their prime. They are at their sweetest.
There are some strawberries, emphasis on the some. They are making their return. A week or so yet before we get excited but they are available for picking a bowl-full for a dessert. (We'll still be pushing the raspberries and blueberries though!)
Berries and the weekend go together!
Closed Sunday. Open again Monday from 8am to 1pm.
I have berry brain; RASPBERRIES, BLUEBERRIES. I have few other words tonight. Excellent picking in both. EXCELLENT and EXCELLENT. Sooner is better than later as far as raspberries are concerned.
We are open Monday to Saturday 8am to 1pm for U-pick.
We'll have good news about strawberries soon but until then, RASPBERRIES, BLUEBERRIES. 'Tis the season and it's an exceptional one.
Sorry for the late notice but the weather! the berries! leads to a perfect day for an evening pick.
Come on out between 5:30 and 7:30pm for an evening U-pick of raspberries and blueberries this Thursday, July 16th.
Read today's post below for picking information for today, Thursday. It's our (YOUNEEEDRASPBERRIES) post!
We hope to see you later and/or earlier today.
picking in the raspberries continues. This is THE week!
But let's give a little attention to the deserving blueberries
Excellent picking continues in the blueberries. Big, blue, sweet, plentiful. All you ever wanted in a blueberry.
But I'll keep pushing the raspberries (YOUNEEDRASPBERRIES) because their days are more numbered. A week? 10 days? But maybe they'll continue to amaze us with their longevity?
We are open 8am to1pm Monday to Saturday for U-pick.
Remember to bring containers and cash.
Until next time-----and by that I mean until tomorrow! (YOUNEEDRASPBERRIES)
"Best Picking Ever" are not my words but words of pickers this week. I can't add much to that description other than to say that the bumper raspberry crop is not just bumper but extra-ordinary in taste too.
Blueberries are exceptional as well.
Add to that there are a SOME strawberries for the picking and it's shaping up to be an excellent week in the berry world.
Don't miss out on the kind of berry year we've only hoped for!
We are open 8am to 1pm for U-pick berries Wednesday and Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Closed Sunday.
**We are the middle farm of three berry farms on the "berry farm" section of Dove Creek Rd.
We'll go out on a limb and say YES! The size, the taste, the colour, the consistency, the ease of picking, even the weather for picking....close to perfect. The downside is, we think, that it can't possibly last. So this would be a very good week to come and pick because it might possibly be the best picking ever----until I try make the same claim next year(!)
(I hope the fancy Nikon is doing these berries justice).
Blueberries continue to knock our socks off too. Great picking with more weeks ahead of them than the raspberries.
We are open all week from 8am to 1pm for Raspberry and Blueberry U-pick. Closed Sunday.
Bring buckets to fill and cash.
with RASPBERRIES and BLUEBERRIES. The rain had only a positive impact on the berries. The picking should be excellent all week. Loads of berries on the canes and the bushes. They pretty much had the weekend off and they are berries of beauty!!
We are open 8am to 1pm Monday to Saturday for U-pick.
*Bring containers and cash.
We also have roasting chickens, free range eggs, and also zucchini, cucumbers and lettuce for sale.
With a proper rainfall and cloud cover in the forecast, the week is shaping up to be a fine one! Happy mid-July to you.
It's going to be good one! I've just finished my post-dinner snack in the raspberries. The berries continue to look and taste wonderful, it's a lot cooler, I can hear the accordian on the main stage at MusicFest. It's all leads me to knowing that tomorrow will be a great day in the berry rows. Again. Both raspberries and blueberries are excellent.
We are open 8am to 1pm for U-pick. Closed Sunday. Bring containers and cash.
A blanket, a book and a basket of berries. It's one of those weekends....
the picking remains easy and excellent in both. It's fill your freezer time! It's difficult to predict how much longer they have? More time for sure but for sure we know it's great now.
(And the strawberries are showing the signs of promise like they do in mid-July. It won't be long...)
Open Friday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm for U-pick. Closed Sunday.
The farm is a lovely place to be in the morning and just a hop, skip and short bike or car ride from town.
Bring cash, containers and a water bottle is a great idea.
Happy music-festing to those taking it in!
